Who we are

Mustion Merkitys was established in 2003. We are based in the village of Svartå (or Mustio, in Finnish) in the municipality of Raseborg (Raasepori) in south-western Finland, but as bits know no borders, our clients and partners are geographically dispersed.

Mission, vision, strategy and values? Through our work, we are accustomed to big words but our focus is on getting the job done and getting it right. We concentrate on what we do, and respect ourselves, our clients and our partners by delivering high-quality services and sticking to agreements and schedules. We believe in having fun at work and know that sometimes you have to wind down, too. We are committed to continuously developing ourselves and our business.

Mustion Merkitys is owned by Esa Lehtinen and Laura Mänki. They both got their Master's degrees from the University of Helsinki and worked in languages and ICT before starting their own business. Esa worked for Nokia Networks/Nokia Siemens Networks for more than ten years and completed an Information Specialist degree on the side. Laura is a serial entrepreneur and student-of-all-trades, who codes like a girl. Her career ranges from ICT to arts and humanities, including languages and culture.
